The Bard's Tale Trilogy is a complete remaster of the iconic series that helped define the RPG genre. Featuring updated graphics and optional quality of life gameplay features, this is the ideal way to experience the dungeon crawling challenge that made the original games beloved classics.

The Bard’s Tale Trilogy is a remaster of the three individual original InXile titles combined into one:
The Bard’s Tale I - Tales Of The Unknown, II The Destiny Knight, III Thief of Fate.

 

I worked closely with the 2D artist bringing ~225 of the recreated animated portraits to modern life. Each portrait had a series of modular frames which allowed me to animate them in a variation of ways.

I was responsible for constructing/designing/polishing environments, towns and dungeons from original map data, text descriptions and content from the original games into a remastered 3D environment using modular and re-usable assets.

  • C# Scripting - FX, Proprietary Language - Journal / adventure guide, map/level reconstruction.

  • UI/UX improvements.

  • Game flow improvements.

  • Document play through guide for Bard’s Tale 1, 2 & 3.

  • Project maintenance.

  • Storefront presence - screenshots, video capture.
